Dear Parents, Guardians, Carers and Students,
A very rainy day to the start of Term 4. A lovely day to be inside starting the work for this term in a warm and cosy environment. I would like to wish all our students sitting the GAT this Wednesday (35 in total I believe) all the very best, knowing that you are well prepared for the paper after a number of practice sessions.
On behalf of our school, I want to say a big thank you to all our students, parents, carers and guardians for your continued resilience and support throughout this year. I know remote and flexible learning has not always been easy, but through our collective efforts, our students have continued to make valuable progress in their learning. You can be confident that Bright P-12 College will support any student who has fallen behind to catch up.
Term 4 is important for every Victorian student, and our teachers will strive to deliver high-quality learning for everyone.
We are really looking forward to your return to onsite learning this term and below are a few updates as we prepare for your return to onsite learning:
Face masks in schools
A face mask that covers the nose and mouth is now the only permitted type of face covering. Face shields, scarves or bandanas do not meet these requirements.
-
All Secondary students are required to wear a face mask at all times, apart from:
-
Eating and drinking
-
PE/Sport - where the teacher has given explicit permission to remove the mask due to the nature of the activity.
-
-
Primary students do not have to wear a mask when in the school grounds
-
If a Primary student is over the age of 12 they will need to wear one to and from school
-
Temperature screening
Based on the advice of the Acting Deputy Chief Health Officer, given the current levels of community transmission in Victoria, mandatory temperature testing of all students on arrival to schools will not be required in Term 4.
However, should community transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19) increase, temperature checking may be reintroduced for some schools.
Hats
We are a P-12 sunsmart school which means we all wear hats when outside in Term 4. Please check that you have a school hat ready to go as you come back onsite as you will need one.
Uniform
When you come back onsite it would be great to see everyone wearing the correct uniform with pride. We can be extremely proud of our College and wearing the uniform correctly demonstrates your connection to our Bright P-12 College community. I thank you in advance for your support with the uniform and hats.
Canteen
The Canteen will be open as usual this week for Primary students from Thursday and next week the canteen will be open for everyone as normal. The Canteen menu has been put up on Compass today. For secondary students lining up to be served there are crosses in place for where to stand to maintain social distancing.
