Today was a very exiting and fun day!
We all woke up around 7:30am as usual, some people bought breakfast down in the cafe in the lobby. Todays breakfast was either pancakes or toast and some went for a walk to the convenience store and brought brekky.
The first thing we did was walk to Sanjusangendo or 1001 Buddha, it is a very old temple with 1000 human sized Buddhas and 1 massive Buddha in the middle with a monk preying to it and singing some hymns and ringing a bell. It was a very interesting experience.
Next we walked to a karaoke parlour and sung some songs. Most people got really into it and had heaps of fun. We all got unlimited free drinks as well but the machine wasn’t working very well.
We made our way to the bus stop and got a lift to a market. We separated into groups and went and brought some lunch. The market had some really different stuff that you wouldn’t usually see in Australia.
We got on another bus,it got sooo crowed really quickly. We went to the Ginkakuji Temple. It’s also known as the silver temple but it’s not silver as it was never completed . They had this really amazing sand mountain in the shape of Mount Fuji that was really tempting to jump on but luckily no one did. We walked around the garden for a while and took in the view, there were many beautiful ponds and Japanese maple trees in the area.
Later we went for a little shop near the temple and we went out for dinner and got some gyozas, they were very oishii (delicious )and went back to the hotel ant tried some mochi.
